URec offers something for everyone
University Recreation provides recreational programs and facilities to students.
Students can go bowling at ULanes in the Student Activity Center, play disc golf at the CMU Disc Golf Course, go swimming in one of two pools, or participate in one of more than 25 club sports.
Harry Potter conference at CMU
During the scholarly and theatrical conference at CMU, “Mischief Managed,” Harry Potter fans participated in activities.
Some activities include Model Wizarding World to address issues of rights and justice for inhabitants of the magical world and a visit to Diagon Alley, which will include activities, performances, debates and discussions inspired by the Harry Potter book.

Adopt-A-Grandparent
The CMU Volunteer Center offers a variety of opportunities for students to become civically engaged.
Adopt-A-Grandparent is a co-mentoring program between CMU students and residents at Maplewood Assisted Living of Mount Pleasant. Students and residents spend at least one hour together a week and participate in monthly special events.
